The Mathis Nunataks (77°8′S 143°27′W) are an isolated cluster of nunataks near the head of Arthur Glacier, 8 nautical miles (15 km) east-southeast of Mount Warner, in the Ford Ranges. The group of nunataks were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in honor of Terry R. Mathis, a traverse engineer who served with the Byrd Station glaciological strain network during the 1967–68 research season, and also as station engineer with the Byrd Station winter party in 1968.
