IMPORTANT NOTE

Titles in the Peerage of Westarctica are not available for purchase at this time.

Peerages may still be earned through service to the government of Westarctica.

"Nobility is a graceful ornament to the civil order." - Edmund Burke

As a sovereign (though unrecognized) monarchy, Westarctica has a proud tradition of bestowing titles of nobility upon its most enthusiastic supporters.

Joining the Peerage of Westarctica is an honor all its own, and many of our noble peers now hold important positions in our governing body, the Royal Council.  The Grand Duke relies on Westarctica's peers for guidance and to help "carry the flag" by serving as living examples of the Westarctican noble ideal.

Life Peerages make a great gifts as well, it's something they won't expect and perfect for the person who has everything!

Your Letters Patent and welcome package are hand-crafted and lovingly assembled by our Minister of Commerce, so please allow at least one month for delivery.

Count / Countess

The title of count is derived from the French word comte, indicating a companion of a ruler.  The British equivalent is an earl, but there are no earls in Westarctica.  The first count created in our peerage was the Countess Radlinski who received her title in 2002.

Baron / Baroness

The title of baron is by far the most popular title in Westarctica.  Historically, our barons have been a somewhat rowdy group, but more recently, the barons have brought honor and dignity to the title. For many years, the title of baron was the easiest to obtain, and due to the large number of barons that were welcomed into the Peerage of Westarctica from 2015 - 2018, there was discussion in the Royal Council about making the title unavailable in the future.

However, considering its overwhelming popularity with Westarctica's supporters, the Grand Duke decided to continue creating barons and baronesses for the time being.

Baronet / Baronetess

The title of baronet has historically been used by monarchs as a means to raise funds for their nation.  For example, King James I of England sold over 200 baronet titles to help pay for the administration of the royal army.  The cost of the title today would be equivalent to $330,000 U.S. dollars!
